how do english speakers distinguish between grandparents??? like i know they might use nana or something between themselves but when your friend asks what you’re doing for the weekend and you say that youre going to visit your grandmother then they wont have any clue which one you’re talking about. it sounds like so much work to have to clarify every time. just call them mommom and momdad and dadmom and daddad like we do
do u have a similar thing for aunts/uncles??? bc in arabic, grandma/grandpa is the same word for both ur maternal + paternal grandparents, but there is a distinction for whether ur aunt/uncle is ur mom’s sister/brother or dad’s sister/brother
